Syracuse 7th and 8th grade math students recently participated in the National MathCounts contest
The Syracuse 7th and 8th grade math students recently participated in the National MathCounts contest. MathCounts is a national math and problem solving contest sponsored by The American Society of Professional Engineers. The school contest consisted of a 2 part test with a wide range of problems involving math, geometry and general problem solving. The top 10 scoring students in the 7th and 8th grade are listed below:

The top 7 8th graders and the top 5 7th graders competed in the Southeast Nebraska Chapter competition online. This included all schools in Southeast Nebraska, including Lincoln, that chose to participate. Hunter Holle from Syracuse placed 19th out of 79 students in the competition. He was the highest placing student from Syracuse. The top 12 move on to the State Competition. Congratulations Hunter!
