Fifth Grade Participates in Mystery Skype

Fifth-graders recently had the chance to connect with students in Pennsylvania through a Mystery Skype experience. The goal of  a Mystery Skype is to figure out the location of the other school by asking a series of yes/no questions.

Syracuse fifth-graders had to work together to solve the mystery and put to use much of the information they had learned through their study of U.S. states, capitals, and regions. In addition, they had to use their critical-thinking, communication, and map skills as they asked and answered questions from the opposing school “on the spot.”

All in all, it was a learning experience for both the students and the teachers. To see the Mystery Skype in action, watch the video.
