Rockets Volleyball Team Win Fairbury Tourney
The Lady Rockets played in the Fairbury tournament for the first time Saturday, September 15th. They played Sandy Creek and beat them by the scores of 25-12, 25-10. In the semifinals the Rockets started slow against Fall City but were able to out score them, 25-23, 25-13. In the championship game, the Lady Rockets played a tough Fairbury team and were victorious by the scores of 25-16, 25-27, 25-18. The Rockets had some outstanding plays by Katie Dettmer with 23 kills, 9 blocks and 2 ace serves. Jordan Lechner added 25 kills, 29 digs and 3 ace serves. Ellen Neels had 12 kills and 2 ace serves. Megan Farley had 12 kills and 59 assist. Kelsi Wichmann playing the libero position for the Rockets, had 13 digs. Ellie Jacobson added 6 kills, Kelby Goering had 4 ace serves and Emily Reed served 5 out of 5 serves.
