Committee Announces Plans for 2019 Post Prom Event
Post Prom is an annual tradition in Syracuse because it provides a fun, safe, chemical-free way for our local youth to spend prom night, after the school dance. Students also love having a chance to win new items they can enjoy during their senior year or as they move into college!
The event is organized by the Syracuse PRIDE Post Prom Committee, a revolving group of parent-volunteers that does not receive any funding from the school budget. Post Prom is made possible through donations from local community members and businesses, combined with funds raised by the committee’s tailgate meals, concessions, and other small fundraisers.
Our first tailgate fundraiser was a great success thanks to all the Rocket football fans that came to eat with us! We also truly appreciate the donations given by junior/senior parents, Thrivent Financial and FirstBank of Nebraska. Mark your calendar for our Rocket basketball tailgate meal: January 29th from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the Middle School Commons.
We are excited to announce that the 2019 Post Prom will kick-off at the NEW Urban Air Trampoline & Adventure Park in Lincoln! After a few hours, we’ll head back to Syracuse for prize drawings and raffles while enjoying a big breakfast hosted by the Syracuse Rescue Squad Volunteers, who are graciously donating their time and use of their facility.
We appreciate any monetary donations, as well as gift item contributions from businesses, organizations, families and individuals! To donate, simply contact us or complete the Post Prom Sponsor/Donation Form.
We are trying to gather as many donations as possible by November 1, 2018, to be able to see where we stand financially and start planning for prize/raffle items. Contributions after that date are welcome and appreciated as well. We are thankful for the generosity of our sponsors and will recognize contributions via social media, unless someone asks to remain anonymous.
