Good Samaritan Society and SDA HS Provides Work-Based Learning
SDA HS Teacher Michelle Zoller and the SDA HS 18-21 Transition Program teamed up with Diane Crouch of Nebraska VR, and the Good Samaritan Society of Syracuse to provide a work-based learning experience for area students. Nebraska VR works with teachers, students, parents, and employers across the state to help students plan for the future and prepare for careers that match their skills, abilities, and interests. Last May, Michelle Zoller and Diane Crouch partnered together and built a relationship with the Dietary Team at the Good Samaritan Society of Syracuse. Alli Nichols started employment with the Dietary Team over the summer under the direction of Diane Seelhoff and her job coach, Kim Bennett. Alli learned many different vocational skills that has helped her gain work experience. Alli's work experience over the summer has continued during the fall semester of the school year. Alli is a great asset to the team at the Good Samaritan Society. She works hard and excels at interacting with the residents. SDA's 18-21 Transition Program and Nebraska VR are always looking for businesses around the area to help prepare and give students the job skills that are necessary for the transition from high school into the work force. If you are interested in becoming part of this program, please contact Michelle Zoller at 402-269-2381.
