Matteo Antunez Participates in Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) US National Competition

After besting 320,000 students who earned a passing score on an eligible MOS Exam in the qualifying round, Matteo was one of 124 finalists. At the US National Competition, students were given a printed copy of a document, spreadsheet or presentation to recreate, along with printed instructions and digital assets. Students were scored according to the accuracy of the re-creation. Matteo participated in the 2013 Excel MOS Exam.

Students having MOS Certification in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access is extremely valuable as students prepare for college and their careers. Earning the certifications allows students to stand out from the crowd and prove that they have valuable skills necessary for 21st Century job skills. Matteo is certified in all four MOS programs and is also Master Certified. Master Certified means he has passed all certifications as well as two Expert level exams.

Syracuse has had a testing center for the past 2 years in Mrs. Watermeier’s Computer Lab. All students at SDA, regardless if they are currently in Mrs. Watermeier’s IT classes, along with teachers and support staff are welcome and encouraged to take the certification tests.

Matteo and Mrs. Watermeier traveled to Orlando, FL June 19-22. In addition to participating in the competition, they enjoyed spending a day at Epcot at Disney World.
