"The Syracuse National Honor Society would like to recognize our October Rocket of the Month winners - Haleigh Werner & Baylor Boerer Our upperclassman winner Haleigh- was nominated by Mrs. Mosel for exemplifying leadership, scholarship & character Excerpts from her nomination: Haleigh truly exemplifies the Rocket Standard of Excellence. She demonstrates kindness and respect in every interaction and is an advocate for her peers. Her work ethic is unmatched and she consistently goes above and beyond expectations. Through many challenges, she has adapted, and always remains positive, flexible, and dependable in all that she does. When she is gone she always makes sure to communicate and stays caught up in her classes. Excuses are not part of Haleigh’s language. She sees no obstacles to her learning and her positivity is an inspiration to us all. Our underclassman, Baylor, was nominated by Mrs. Mowry for exemplifying scholarship .

JAG students used their skills in listening, creativity, time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and strategy to make spaghetti towers as an exercise for learning reinforcement. When time expired, the towers needed to be free-standing for 60 seconds. Michael Apel won honors for tallest tower at 18" while Turner Jording won honors for most creative tower as judged by Mrs. Wittler.
