Our first Junior High Game Night, organized by the Junior High Student Council, was a great time! 🎉
Students enjoyed a little bit of everything- card games, cornhole, Jenga, building activities, gym time, and even some outdoor fun since the weather was so nice. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a fun night!

The Syracuse boys basketball team stopped by the middle school to get students fired up for our March Madness Reading Challenge. This year's challenge combines the excitement of basketball with the power of reading. The competition tips off next Monday with a friendly game of Knockout and runs through April 7. As we approach the 4th quarter, students are encouraged to elevate their reading game and finish strong!

At the Nebraska State Bandmasters convention banquet, Hunter Jazbec received the NSBA Bob Palensky scholarship. It was awarded to 2 Nebraska seniors for continued music at the collegiate level. Hunter will be a music education major at UNL this fall.

Syracuse Middle School students had the opportunity to meet children's book author Jefferson Knapp. During his presentation, Knapp explained how many of his experiences as a child growing up in Kansas found their way into his fantasy book series The Kingdom at the End of the Driveway. Special thanks to our PTO for sponsoring the visit and providing a unique opportunity for students!

In recognition of The National Day of Unplugging, our middle school school will participate in SDA Unplugged, tomorrow March 6. All students will store personal and school-provided devices starting at 8:15am on March 6, but we encourage you to support an entirely tech-free day for your student by beginning the morning without devices. Students and staff will engage in learning and activities without technology to help promote balance, creativity, social connection, and focus.
We also invite you to join us for a SDA Parent Partnership Meeting on March 9 at 6:00PM in the SDA MS Library. During this time, we will discuss how we can work together to support student behavior, healthy technology use, and mental health. We will share current research, practical strategies, and helpful tips for supporting students both at school and at home. We value your partnership and hope you are able to join us.
