Syracuse Dunbar Avoca PTO Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order shortly after 6:30pm.  Last meetings minutes were reviewed and approved, Tammie motioned and Traci seconded it.   

Kerri Meyer gave the treasurers report. 

The apparel website should soon be available through the SDA Schools website, currently it is available through WriteTime’s website, writetime.biz/sdapto.  You can also write to sdaptoapparel@writetime.biz or sdaptoapparel@gmail.com about ordering apparel.  Orders go out once a month, on the last Wednesday of the month.

 Other area towns have been contacted about their success with Safe Routes to School, we are waiting to hear back from them.  The holiday program has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16, it is called Science Laugh and Learn, this will take place at the end of the day.   Mrs. Munn finished up the Scholastic Dollars from the bookfair on a fifth grade series of reference books.  There was a $5000 donation to the library for the new school also. 

Bev Wilhelm is in charge of the blood mobile at the school and no longer needs help from the PTO. 

PTO is also getting a facebook page, Tammie is currently working on this. 

Discussion was also had on playground equipment for the new middle school. 

Traci also indicated that Amanda Davis is the contact person for the afterschool club.  We will be sending a letter of support.  On January 8, a grant was sent off to add 6^th grade to the current program which includes 7^th and 8^th grades. 

We will start brainstorming about the end of the year program. 

Our next meeting is Tuesday, February 23^rd, 6:30pm to 7:30pm in the elementary lunch room located in the basement, please follow the signs using the south west door.
