Junior High Student Council members present Father Steven Boes, National Executive Director of Boystown, a donation.

Junior High Student Council Year In Review

May 13, 2008

The Junior High Student Council had a successful school year. The group was involved in a variety of community service projects throughout the year. Members were in charge of planning and holding the junior high honor roll celebrations held each quarter along with presenting birthday treats to all junior high students throughout the year. Members held three dances during the school year for all junior high students. At each dance, all admission proceeds and food donations were given to the local food pantry. Stu-Co members purchased and donated Christmas stockings as a service project. The stockings were stuffed with parent and baby supplies for the infants and their families that would be spending the holidays at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital in Omaha. The Stu-Co also sponsored Wiz Wingo, a magician with a drug-free message, who presented his show to all elementary students for Red Ribbon Week. The student council completed their year by taking a field trip to Boystown in Omaha. Members have chosen Boystown to be the recipient of an annual donation to benefit a local institution and supports its services for children. It was exciting to have the National Executive Director of Boystown, Father Steven Boes, meet the students and accept the donation. Student council members toured Wegner Middle School, a family home, Father Flanagan's home, the Field House and a variety of other spots on campus. 2007-2008 Junior High Student Council members were: Ashleigh Teten, Jamie Thoms, Connor Bohlken, Macy Clark, David Moss, Tyler Farley, Lauren Sand and Skyler Teten.
