Golfers Finish 2nd at Nebraska City

The Syracuse Rocket boys golf team had a busy day on Wednesday competing in two tournaments. Split squads of varsity golfers went to the rescheduled Nebraska City Invite and the regularly scheduled Raider Invitational at Wymore. Additionally, five other golfers competed in the junior varsity portion of the Raider Invitational.

At Nebraska City, the Rockets finished second with a 349 team score behind champion Nebraska City which shot a 310. Sophomore Nate Stilmock led the way for the Rockets with an 84 and a sixth place overall finish. Will Juilfs finished eighth with an 85 and Timmy Jensen finished tenth also at 85. Cassidy Lamb carded a 95 and Ben Wilkinson rounded out the scoring with a 114.

At Wymore, Syracuse finished sixth with a 354 total. Mitch Ross led the way with an 82, followed closely by Andrew Vogt at 83. Ben Johanns shot an 89, Rayce Aksamit a 100 and Darin Beach a 103.

In the junior varsity division, Landon Zimmer and Jesse Jewell each fired 102s, Colton Knickman had a 105, Ben Lierman a 106 and Jon Graham a 114.

Syracuse will be in action next on Monday, April 21 at Plattsmouth for a dual beginning at 3:30 p.m.
