March 06, 2008
The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Intergenerational Computer Class will be offered again during the 2007-2008 school year. The computer class will be held six consecutive Tuesdays starting on April 1 and ending May 6, 2008. The Business Computer Applications II students will lead the adults during their regular class period from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.
Students will be prepared to teach various computer concepts from a packet the BCA II students have developed together. This year we may pair the adult with a different student member of the class during the six Tuesday sessions depending on the student expertise and the adult’s learning style. The student will develop lessons for each Tuesday session in an effort to provide individual learning during each session.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Cass/Otoe County is helping sponsor this event again this year for the upcoming "Join Hands Day." For those interested in enrolling for this free computer class, please call the Syracuse Office of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans at 269-2143 to request the class. The maximum number of participants is 16, and we would like enrollment completed by Friday, March 28, 2008.
Thank you to Ron Wenninghoff, a member of Thrivent, and all personnel at Thrivent for Lutherans Cass/Otoe Chapter Office in Syracuse for enrolling, encouraging and supporting financially the efforts to involve community stakeholders in our SDA educational efforts.
A school lunch will be provided by Thrivent for the adult participants after each Tuesday session.
